Jang Geun Suk Donates $1.2 million USD to College

It was revealed on November 23 that Jang Geun Suk donated $1.2 million USD to his college, Hanyang University. First shared on Hanyang University’s donation site, the news spread throughout the students and caused the school to confirm the contribution. “Jang Geun Suk made the donation without notifying the school in advance. But his name was revealed on the school’s donation list and his contribution was made public,” Hanyang University said. Jang Geun Suk’s name first appeared on the school’s donation site on November 22, under the name, “Theater Major Jang Geun Suk,” with the amount $1.2 million USD mentioned on the side. However, his name disappeared on November 23 and raised suspicion over the validity of his endowment. Now that it’s official, this donation turns out to be the highest amount ever by any Hanyang University student or alumni. Before the actor’s donation, the highest was $1 million USD, donated each by two alumni. How did Jang Geun Suk respond to this? “I wanted to make this donation without letting others know, but it’s a bit frustrating how it was made public. I hope this helps my juniors who are struggling through rough times,” Jang Geun Suk said. Hanyang University has stated that a “Jang Geun Suk Scholarship Fund” will be created with the donation and spent on helping theater-major students.

Super Junior’s Hilarious Pre-Performance ‘Good Friends’ Clip

Dear Shisus, just when you thought the Super Junior members couldn’t be any funnier, you get hit with four and a half minutes pure comedy. When you end up rolling on the floor and laughing your butt off, just remember this: breathing every now and then might be a good idea. By now, you probably know that Super Junior pulled off a super successful SS4 in Seoul (try saying that 10 times fast), and you’ve probably seen a multitude of performances. What made the Super Show quite entertaining this year was the use of VCR’s right before performances. For “Good Friends“, the sixth track in the Mr. Simple album, the members dressed up as famous characters and idols: Leeteuk as Hulk Hogan, Yesung as Chuckie, Sungmin as Marilyn Monroe, Shindong as Britney Spears, Eunhyuk as a bird (Chicken Little? Big Bird?), Donghae as Charlie Chaplin, Siwon as Superman, Ryeowook as Gollum, and Kyuhyun as the late Steve Jobs. I can’t simply describe this video with a few words, so just watch it below and see for yourself!

EunHae’s ‘Oppa Oppa’ Performance

Super Junior’s SS4 in Seoul recently passed, with many great performances. From an underwater intro film to a costume party in Good Friends, this concert was definitely spectacular. One of the performances happened to be a duet between members Donghae and Eunhyuk; needless to say, it got the fangirl in me squealing! Dressed in mustard and ketchup suits, the EunHae couple performed the song “Oppa Oppa“. The song had a very retro feel to it, and reminded me of T-ara’s “Roly Poly“. The choreography for the performance was also reminiscent of the “Roly Poly” dance, along with the signature “Ooh ooh!” tossed here and there. The best part was probably in the middle of the song: [Donghae] I say Donghae, you say Oppa! Donghae! [fans] OPPA! [Donghae] Donghae! [fans] OPPA! [Eunhyuk] I say Myeolchi (anchovy), you say Oppa! Myeolchi! [fans] OPPA! [Eunhyuk] Myeolchi! [fans] OPPA! [Both/Eunhyuk] I say EunHae, you say Oppa! Eunhae! [screaming fans] OPPA! [Both/Eunhyuk] Eunhae! [screaming fans] OPPA! Truth to be told, I’m an EunHae shipper, and I’m just in love with this song. I loved how the fans got louder during the EunHae portion! Did you guys like watching the performance? Did anybody actually see it live?

T-ara’s Jiyeon and f(x)’s Victoria looks pretty in old school uniform photos

Before T-ara‘s Jiyeon and f(x)‘s Victoria became the idols we know today, they were both models for school uniform brands. On November 19th, a netizen revealed some old photos of the two idols through an online community board, leaving netizens amazed at how beautiful they were even before debut. With her no makeup face and her hair pulled back with a headband, Jiyeon displayed an innocent type of beauty that caught the attention of many. Victoria, on the other hand, showcased a beautiful and sophisticated image with her thick curls and side bangs. Since both idols are at the forefront of the idol-fashionista line, netizens were surprised to see their fresh-faced looks. Netizens left comments such as, “Even though it is a past picture, you can’t find any flaws in it”, “Both girls were beautiful then too”, and “I think their innocent look is even prettier.”

U-KISS’ Kevin and Eli bring a heartwarming MV Together with JAMOSA

A few weeks ago, it was announced that U-KISS‘ Kevin and Eli would be collaborating with JPOP artist JAMOSA for the song “Together” and the MV for the sweet song has finally been unveiled. The MV itself is quite simple, with shots of the three singers as well as different couples and small children. It’s quite a touching and heartwarming MV and it seems like the type of song you would listen to on a cold rainy day.
