It’s pretty much a known fact that editors love to photoshop in body parts and make thinner body parts in order to give idols a prettier image, but it’s pretty much a first to completely photoshop something out that is good.
That actually happened to SHINee’s Jonghyun, as he and his members guested on Boom’s Youngstreet Radio and recounted the story behind the group’s concept pictures for Sherlock.
Fans were quite surprised by how much skin was bared for the concept pictures, but the members coolly stated, “All of the members were satisfied with it and we all love it.” Minho then divulged that Jonghyun was the happiest with his concept picture, as “[he] was the one that worked out the most so he looked the most satisfied after checking his album jacket picture.”
However, it looks like working out too much wasn’t a good thing in this situation. When asked about the use of CG effects on the pictures, the group responded, “Instead of just showing our body, we had a concept in mind so we used bright lights to hide any muscles and bring out our body lines. Jonghyun actually had so much muscles that we had to erase them with CG effects. Jonghyun’s body is pretty much like the characters in ‘Dragon Ball’.”
So then you mean that Taemin really isn’t that skinny in real life? And that the members are a little more muscular? That’s very interesting. Using CG effects to do away with anything muscular.
