Which idol has the best manners?

Certain girl groups have been receiving flack for being “rude” lately. We recently asked our writers, “Which idol has the best manners?” Here’s what some of our writers had to say: Ngoc Nguyen: One, if not the best mannered idol is TVXQ’s leader Yunho. Aside from the TVXQ lawsuit, Yunho has never been involved in any personal scandal that tarnishes his reputation as a humble, and respectful senior that younger idols look up to. The only time he’s ever in the spotlight is because the charity work he’s been doing secretly for years becomes exposed to the public. The one incident that earned Yunho my respect, however, was the time he was poisoned by an anti-fan back during his earlier debut days. Although this incident almost cost him his life, he found it in his heart to forgive the anti-fan because she was the same age as his sister. Yunho’s considerate, caring, and basically great manners makes him one of the rare men that any girl can take home to introduce to her parents without having to worry they might not like him. Tamari Kharebava: Hyungs tried very hard and they succeeded in raising their adorable “child” Taemin from SHINee together. The kiddo grew up (and is still growing) with great manners. All the fans must be proud of how sweet Taemin is to everyone. He is never rude, mean or disrespectful. Quite the opposite. He is rather shy when he messes up during the shows, but still always continues trying, never getting frustrated. Taemin is nice to his noonas too and charms them with his candy smile. He doesn’t just show respect to his noonas but to his hyungs too. For example he looks up to Yunho&Minho excessively with shining eyes. They always have their hands around Taemin’s shoulders. Also, during one of the concerts, backstage Yunho was touching his hair trying to straighten it, like a parent. Everyone knows Yunho has great manners, and here’s when people say ‘like father like son’. Taemin is not just a cute bubble, people should start noticing how much consideration he puts in his words and his actions. He always tries to please everyone politely and that’s what makes him an idol with the best manners! Kathleen Liu: If I had to choose just ONE idol who has the best manners in my opinion, my first choice would definitely be none other but Lee Seung Gi. First of all, he was even chosen as the most “Well Mannered Guy” in a survey. He has already been known as a very well mannered guy because of his looks and image as a singer and actor. Furthermore, whenever I see him guest starring in a variety show or just a talk show, he speaks in a respectful attitude to his seniors and fans. Not only when he guest stars, but also when he is mcing, such as in ‘Strong Heart’. Even though Kang Ho Dong left the show leaving him alone to MC, he tried his best to please the audience and STILL respect his seniors even when it was his first time to MC alone. However, I know most idols usually also respect their senior, but when I first saw Lee Seung Gi, I could already see him as a well-mannered man and good senior to his ‘Hoobaes’. Another evidence of how Lee Seung Gi is just so well-mannered is from his own seniors. Singer Lee Sun Hee previously has also stated on how respectful and full of potential Lee Seung Gi was when they met for the first time. Mylinh Pham: Manners are molded through several aspects including how an individual presents themselves, how they respect their surrounding peers and what they do to encourage and promote the unfortunate disadvantages of the lower class. Similarly, fitting this criteria is no other than Wonder Girl’s Sunye. Being one of the older members in her group and also a sunbae for many of the idols of this time, she has become one of the top idol role model for her juniors. Outside of her promoting schedules, Sunye is a regular participant in charity work and also in performing in Churches to promote and spread God’s teachings. Early last year, news erupted regarding Sunye’s visit to an old man’s home deep in the mountains where she donated him essential items needed for survival. The outbreak of news sent shockwaves across Korea as many fans were surprised of the deeds Sunye has committed herself to under the radar and without any recognition whatsoever. Her willingness to associate with someone from completely starking conditions to her, reinforces her polite manners where she treats everyone on the same level. Furthermore, Sunye has never forgot to bring her manners wherever she goes, despite the circumstances she is encountered with, as seen with her father’s passing middle of last year. The melancholic news left fans worried for the star’s wellbeing, however after returning from her short hiatus, she reassured her fans and showed her respect by doing a bow. Additionally after every performance or win, she has always been seen returning a bow to her fans which is a clear reflection of her manners.
