2PM’s Chansung Cast in Japanese Drama Kaito Royale
2PM’s Chansung will take on his first regular role in a Japanese drama with the upcoming TBS drama, “Kaito Royale”.
“Kaito Royale” is a live action drama based off of the game, Mobage, which allows players to become different types of phantom thieves and collect treasure. Prior to Chansung joining the cast, Matsuzaka Tori was confirmed as the intelligent thief, Omasa Aya as the sexy thief, and Fukushi Seiji will be the technically gifted thief. It was announced today that Chansung will take on the role as Jack, who is the macho thief, a high-skilled martial artist.
Chansung commented, “I hope you will not only remember me as a singer, but also as Chansung the actor. …I’m still in the process of improving my Japanese, but I want to tackle the role of ‘Jack’ with all my strength.”
While Chansung might not be able to speak Japanese well, he has certainly impressed the staff with his Taekwondo skills already. The producer said, “the action scenes with Chansung are the highlights of the drama. I’m a guy, but even I think that he’s cool.”
Chansung was not the only addition to the cast that was announced today, as TBS also revealed that Maya Kyoko, Sasaki Nozomi, and Shimojo Atomu were also joining the cast of “Kaito Royale”.
“Kaito Royale” is scheduled to air their first episode on TBS on October 28th.
This drama actually sounds pretty interesting. I think i may have to check it out!
