So now not only is KPOP crashing into the US music scene (As well as other countries) but now JPOP seems to be following! Beginning with (and he’s in no way the ONLY one, but right now he so is) a top Japanese musician, singer, and even actor has signed a global deal with Warner Music Group in 2010. His all-English single ‘Test Drive‘ with Jason Derulo is due to come out on Tuesday, November 8th, 2011 at 7:00am on all digital streaming sites and retailers. He is also going to answer questions for all of his fans during a LIVE U-Stream video!
Let me tell you…this is so very exciting!
For those of you who may not know, Jin Akanishi is a former member and vocalist of KAT-TUN. (Who also rocks!) He made great leaps and bounds with his lyrics, always original, and his extremely energetic and fun performaces on stage. I’m not saying he is the sole reason, but he IS a big reason KAT-TUN’s albums, singles, and even DVD’s were sent to and stayed at #1 on the Japanese National Charts! He’s been an amazing idol and superstar since he was little. After successfully doing a solo tour in Japan, he decided to break into the US music industry. ‘You and Jin USA‘ and ‘Yellow Gold Tour 3010‘ brought in thousands upon thousands of fans in locations like Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, San Fransisco and New York! All without ever having released a US album or having a powerful record company behind them! After such complete success from his solo tours, he knew he did the right thing and has become ready to follow all his dreams and transcend the music scene in Asia! Thanks to all the fans who has been the driving force of support for him, they are helping his motivation to do all this and to continue doing what he loves : Entertaining fans! His idea and vision is to mix his JPOP stylings with the US music trends.
He’s been so fascinated by the US culture and music that he’s developed favorite artists and bands, becoming a huge fan, some of these artists which include Jason Derulo, The Stereotypes, The Black Eyed Peas, Lil Wayne, Dr. Dre, Nicki Minaj and many more artists!
Now so close to the emergence of his new single, and wrapping up filming the movie ‘47 Ronin‘ which stars Keanu Reeves, he’s beginning to really get ready for his time in the American limelight. (Can’t wait!) Rob Cavallo the chairman of Warner Bros Records, had this to say about everything, “We are delighted that Jin is making his U.S. debut, following his sold-out tour here last year. Jin is a talented, versatile artist who is already a superstar in Japan, and we are looking forward to working with him to build his American fan-base and global career.”
