The Real Reason Late Actress Han Chae Won Took Her Own Life

Its been two months since the 26 year old singer/actress hung herself in her apartment. The reason behind this had eluded many even her close friends and family. All that she had left in her wake was a 2002 KBS drama(Solitude) and MBC sitcom(Non-Stop 3)in 2003. Han Chae Won had just debuted as a singer when tragedy struck. The only clue she left behind was a message on her mini homepage. It read, “I want to stop suffering, I want to stop crying”. The poor woman’s suicide hadn’t even been reported till two months after the fact. Many netizens responded with shock and disbelief, flooding her page with condolences for her family. Although it seems like the mystery may have been solves, albeit a little late. MBC‘s ‘Entertainment Plus dedicated a full episode to her, it ran on October 10th. It still showed mysterious circumstances surrounding the beauty’s death. Now the police have come out with the fact she was dealing with depression and receiving treatment for it. Although it wasn’t going as smoothly as she would have hoped. Many people jumped out of the woodwork’s while she was putting herself back together, offering her “roles” for thousands of dollars. All of which would turn out to be fake.They would pose as entertainment companies managers and ask for large amounts of cash in turn for popular roles. This did not happen once but many times. One such case involved her giving over $80,000 USD for a promised role on T.V. She was so desperate for the limelight she had even proceeded with 3 different name changes. Each time wishing that the change would bring her a lucky name with which she could break out big. Before she gave up she confided in a friend that, “there is no one to trust in this world”, she would then go on to take her own life. I feel this is such a tragic end for such a beautiful young lady! I hate to see this side of the entertainment industry but unfortunately this is also a huge part of that. To see people pushed to their brink like this, and used is such a sad situation. Although I understand her want and need for the spotlight and public recognition, I can’t understand how you could be frauded many different times, all by the same act. Also, why wasn’t it reported right away, why hide it for two months? I find that a bit odd too. May she rest in peace and I hope her family will find the comfort they need to get by.
